"Guided by an ethic of slowness, care, and attentive looking, I create images where natural phenomena—earth, light, water—are encountered as both familiar and new. Working across printmaking, drawing, and painting, I reinterpret recognizable motifs at ambiguous scales and in unexpected contexts: well-known blues associated with sky and water emerge as isolated shapes and marks, while mountains and moons are reimagined through cropping and fragmentation.
I utilize the directness of painting and drawing alongside monotype, etching, and screenprinting processes that emphasize trace, residue, and chance. In both modes of making, I prioritize abstraction and a graphic, pattern-like quality. I often repeat central themes, like the sky’s reflection in a puddle of water or the pattern of ripples on the lake’s surface. This repetition and study is an act of devotion. The natural world captivates and mystifies me; as such, this work springs from a sense of delight and wonder."
